Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development, Testing and Post Test Data Analysis and Processing of Propulsion System Components.
  • Responsible for Propulsion Systems/ Major Sub-Systems, with the goal of delivering the entire task from concept to completion in accordance with the development plan.
  • Generate Propulsion System’s Numerical/Analytical models.
  • Develop and execute the 1-D Heat Transfer Analysis for the Engine Cooling Methods.
  • Carry out the structural and Thermo-structural designs of the combustion devices.
  • Plan and develop the test procedures and test documents for the components.
  • Closely collaborate with the Stage & Realization, Integration & Testing Teams to carryout mission requirements.
  • Develop design philosophy for additively manufacturing the components.
  • Identify design modifications to improve Performance, Reliability, Manufacturability and Assembly.

Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of design of Rocket Engine Systems and Sub-Systems.
  • Knowledge of Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Material Science.
  • Experience with design of Fluid System Components, Sealing Technologies.
  • Practical experience in handling of Cryogenic and Non-Cryogenic Propellants is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling Software (Creo preferred).
  • Ability to perform Structural and Fluid Analysis (Ansys preferred).
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and/or other codes.
  • Understanding of Additive Manufacturing.

Other Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write design reports, test plans and deliver presentations.
  • Experience in start-up or agile development environment.
  • Awareness of evolution of Space Technology and recent advancements in the field.
  • Passion for space exploration and firm belief in delivering affordable access to space.
  • Self-driven engineer who thrives in ambiguity.
  • Passion & Tenacity to tackle challenging issues unique to rocket Engines.
