Launch Operations Engineering Intern (f/m/d)

Location: Reims, France

Type: 4-6 months internship

Starting: September 2026

The Launch Campaign Department is responsible for preparing and executing launch operations for the company’s launch vehicle from the Oman spaceport.

This includes coordinating all ground activities required to assemble, integrate, verify and prepare the launch system before flight operations.

To ensure successful launch campaigns, the department manages the integration of ground support equipment and launch infrastructure, verifies the readiness of operational documentation, and coordinates industrial verification activities prior to deployment.

In this context, the intern will support the Launch Campaign team by assisting the Integration Manager in the preparation, coordination and verification of ground integration activities.

Tasks & missions

The intern will support the Launch Campaign team by assisting the Integration Manager throughout the preparation of ground integration activities.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the preparation of ground support equipment integration activities for launch campaigns
  • Verifying the completeness and consistency of integration documentation, including procedures, user manuals, work instructions and technical documentation
  • Reviewing and validating the sequence of assembly and integration operations to ensure operational readiness
  • Assisting in the preparation and organization of industrial acceptance and verification tests for ground equipment
  • Contributing to the verification of manufacturing and assembly deliverables prior to integration activities
  • Supporting coordination between engineering, manufacturing and operations teams during integration preparation
  • Participating in technical reviews related to integration readiness and configuration management
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of integration processes, documentation and operational methodologies
  • Preparing and maintaining packing plans for ground support equipment, ensuring the identification, completeness and traceability of hardware required for transport and integration activities
  • Depending on project progress, supporting the preparation of ground equipment acceptance tests, including the definition of test objectives, review of verification requirements and preparation of the associated documentation

During this internship, the student will gain hands-on experience in the preparation and coordination of launch system integration activities within a complex aerospace environment.

You will learn how to:

  • Prepare and coordinate ground equipment integration activities for launch campaigns
  • Plan and verify assembly and integration sequences for complex aerospace systems
  • Review technical documentation to ensure operational completeness and consistency
  • Understand industrial acceptance testing and verification processes for ground systems
  • Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including ground segment, manufacturing, systems engineering and launch operations
  • Develop project coordination, technical documentation and configuration management skills within a safety-critical environment

Preferred experience & skills

Education: Master’s degree student, final year or equivalent, in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Skills:

  • Strong interest in space launch systems, ground systems and integration activities
  • Knowledge of system integration, manufacturing or industrial verification processes is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to review and synthesize technical documentation
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills in English
  • Ability to work in a structured, multidisciplinary and collaborative environment
  • Proactive mindset, attention to detail and willingness to work on operational and industrial topics
