Fluid Engineer (f/m/d)

The Fluid Department is responsible for the development of the launcher’s onboard fluid systems, as well as the fluid systems for ground and test facilities.
The Fluid Department is especially responsible for:
- Designing fluid systems according to functional needs, system architecture, and the choice of fluids for all company fluid systems: launcher, ground, and test facilities.
- Selecting the appropriate components to perform the required functions.
- Modelling the behavior of the system to validate the design.
- Defining how the system needs to be operated.
- Ensuring the safety and reliability of the designed system.
- Analyzing test results to make sure the system responds as designed.
- Optimizing built systems to improve reliability and efficiency.
Responsabilities
As a Fluids Engineer, you will participate in several missions involving the simulation, testing and integration of ground and onboard equipment.
To test all engine elements, several test benches will be integrated by the end of the year. Then, the two stages will also need to be integrated and tested. Test results will need to be analyzed in order to assess the system response under real conditions.
Main missions
• Take responsibility for critical hardware for space operations or ground support
• Design and develop fluid and mechanical systems intended for ground support or the launch vehicle
• Ensure full ownership of the hardware, from architecture, design and analysis, through to integration, testing and launch
• Manage production and procurement processes related to fluid systems
• Apply your overall technical knowledge to perform fluidic and structural sizing, routing and design, while taking cost and schedule constraints into account
Skills required
Degrees and training:
Engineering degree or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline
Technical skills
Strong command of the basic principles of structural mechanics, incompressible and compressible flows, thermodynamics and materials
Knowledge of fluidic components, including valves, regulators, etc.
Full experience of the engineering design lifecycle.
Professional experience with Siemens NX preferred, or equivalent CAD software
Professional skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively within a team, with daily interactions with technicians, engineers and managers
Experience required for the position
More than 2 years of relevant experience in aerospace engineering or in an equally demanding industry
More than 2 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly and/or testing
More than 2 years of experience in designing parts and assemblies using CAD software
