As a Group Lead – Fluid System Engineer, you will play a dual role, combining technical expertise and managerial leadership. The Fluid & Propulsion Systems Department develops the launcher’s main engines, auxiliary propulsion, onboard fluid systems, and ground/test facilities. Within this, the Fluid Systems team: designs fluid systems based on functional needs and architecture; selects components; models system behavior; defines operations; ensures safety and reliability; analyzes test results; and optimizes systems for reliability and efficiency. You will lead and structure a team of ~8 engineers, ensuring efficient project execution, resource management, and talent development while contributing technically. Tasks & missions include: overseeing design/development/optimization of fluid systems; aligning architecture, fluid selection, and components with performance, reliability, and safety; guiding modeling, test analysis, and optimization; coordinating cross-functionally to integrate fluid systems; contributing to technical roadmaps; leading/mentoring engineers and interns; defining resource needs; conducting reviews and career development; fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement; supporting training; and promoting team well-being. Preferred experience & skills: Bachelor’s/Master’s in mechanical/aerospace/chemical/energy engineering (or equivalent); 5+ years relevant industry experience with leadership/coordination; strong fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and modeling expertise; knowledge of valves, regulators, and industrial piping a plus; hands-on with EcoSim, CAD (NX, Catia), CFD (Fluent, Star CCM+), and programming (Python, Matlab, Fortran) appreciated; strong leadership and interpersonal skills; excellent cross-functional communication; fluent in English (French a plus).
