With our newly established Munich site, Infinite Orbits builds a dedicated local presence in Germany, building capability in business development, R&D, product development, system engineering, production, and mission operations to enable Europe's defense and space sector.

About the Role
We are hiring across seniority levels to build the technical core of Infinite Orbits Germany, from a Systems Engineer who independently owns mission analysis workstreams to a Chief Engineer who owns end-to-end technical solutions and leads the team as it scales. You will own the technical substance behind our German proposals and delivered contracts — translating customer requirements into mission concepts and defensible system designs across space segment, ground segment, launcher, and user segment — while working closely with Engineering in Toulouse and other Group entities.
The seniority and scope of the role will be matched to your experience during the recruitment process; candidates from mission analysis, satellite or payload specialists through to architects and technical leads with full proposal and team-leadership ownership are encouraged to apply.
Job Description
Mission architecture & analysis: Translate customer requirements into mission concepts, system architectures, and defensible sizing/feasibility/trade-off analysis, across orbit regime, spacecraft configuration, and ConOps.
End-to-end system ownership: Ensure technical coherence and integration across space segment, ground segment, launcher, and user segment solutions.
Technical proposal ownership: Author and own technical content for RFI/RFP responses, customer proposals, and funding applications — scope of ownership scales with seniority, from analysis contribution to full proposal authorship.
Stakeholder engagement: Act as a technical counterpart in discussions with customers, partners, and universities; support sales and business development conversations with technical depth.
Project execution: Own or contribute to technical execution workstreams on won contracts, ensuring delivery against mission and contractual requirements.
Subcontractor & partner support: Provide or oversee technical support for subcontractors and external partners.
Group coordination: Liaise with Engineering in Toulouse and other Group entities to align on technical consistency and leverage existing product and technology solutions from across the Infinite Orbits Group.
Representation: Represent Infinite Orbits' technical capabilities at conferences, technical reviews, and partner meetings, ensuring accurate, defensible framing of platform maturity and capability status.
Requirements
Engineering degree or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in systems engineering
Experience with proposal writing, bid support, or technical pre-sales in the space or defense sector is a plus.
Working knowledge across space segment, ground segment, launcher interfaces, and user segment integration is a plus.
Skills & Other Requirements
Ability to independently size, defend, and iterate technical solutions under customer or stakeholder scrutiny.
Comfortable engaging directly with customers and prospects to support sales and business development conversations.
Ability to translate technical analysis into clear, structured written material for non-technical audiences.
Comfortable owning workstreams independently in an early-stage, cross-border team environment, working closely with Group entities in France and beyond.

A founding technical role with direct ownership of mission analysis and systems engineering in a growing European space and defense company.
