What You'll Do
Hardware Design & Product Development
- Contribute to the design and development of connected hardware platforms including networking devices, infrastructure management systems, serial communication products, and edge computing technologies.
- Review and evaluate electronic schematics, PCB layouts, mechanical assemblies, and component selections to ensure performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Partner with product leadership to translate customer and market requirements into practical engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with firmware and software teams to ensure seamless integration between hardware and embedded systems.
- Support design decisions involving power management, signal integrity, thermal performance, and system reliability.
- Assist with embedded platform development and maintenance activities.
- Contribute to firmware-related initiatives including boot processes, device drivers, diagnostics, hardware validation, and software deployment processes.
- Work within version control environments and participate in Agile development workflows.
- Support hardware-software integration efforts throughout the development lifecycle.
- Build, evaluate, and refine prototype systems through iterative testing and analysis.
- Perform electrical measurements and system diagnostics to verify design functionality and performance.
- Utilize laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Participate in product verification, reliability testing, and validation programs.
- Analyze test data and recommend design improvements to enhance quality and performance.
- Work directly with manufacturing partners, suppliers, and external engineering teams to support production readiness.
- Assist in resolving technical challenges that arise during prototype builds and volume manufacturing.
- Support continuous improvement efforts focused on product quality, reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate on manufacturing process reviews and design-for-manufacturability initiatives.
- Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation including specifications, test procedures, manufacturing instructions, validation reports, and technical training materials.
- Support regulatory certification activities related to electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), wireless communications, emissions, and global product compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with independent testing laboratories and certification agencies to obtain and maintain required approvals.
- Help ensure products remain compliant with evolving international standards and market requirements.
- Maintain organized technical documentation that supports global product deployment and distribution.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Professional experience in hardware design, electronics development, networking products, telecommunications equipment, or similar technologies is preferred.
- Exceptional recent graduates with strong academic projects, internships, co-op experience, or relevant research experience are encouraged to apply.
- Understanding of digital and analog circuit design principles.
- Experience working with PCB design concepts, electronic schematics, and hardware debugging methodologies.
- Familiarity with power systems, signal integrity considerations, and electronic component selection.
- Hands-on experience using electronic test and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, product, and external partner teams.
- Experience with connected devices, IoT platforms, networking hardware, edge computing systems, or data center technologies.
- Knowledge of hardware security concepts including secure boot, platform attestation, certificates, and trusted computing architectures.
- Exposure to optical networking technologies, high-speed connectivity solutions, or telecommunications infrastructure.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers, original design manufacturers (ODMs), or global supply chain partners.
- Familiarity with product qualification testing, reliability engineering, EMI/EMC testing, and safety certification programs.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including surface-mount technology (SMT), injection molding, machining, and final assembly operations.
- Additional language skills such as Spanish, Portuguese, or Mandarin are considered a plus when collaborating with international teams and manufacturing partners.
- You enjoy building physical products and seeing your designs move from concept to production.
