At Exyn, you’ll join a team of passionate innovators, engineers, and problem-solvers dedicated to pushing the boundaries of autonomy and robotics.We are seeking a self-motivated, results-driven Robotics Software Engineer specializing in Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) to join our Autonomy and Mapping Team.The RoleIn this role, you’ll design, develop, and optimize the core algorithms that enable Exyn’s aerial and ground robots to localize, navigate, and map complex 3D environments in real time. Your work will directly impact the accuracy, robustness, and scalability of our autonomous systems in the field.You’ll collaborate closely with robotics, hardware, and product teams, and have opportunities to support field deployments and interface with customers and partners.What You’ll Do:- Develop core localization and mapping related products including real-time and offline SLAM, colorization, and sensor calibration- Optimize algorithms for performance on resource-constrained, edge-compute platforms- Support integration of new sensors, platforms, and capabilities into our autonomy stack- Investigate and debug complex localization and mapping issues escalated by the Customer Success team- Stay current with state-of-the-art research and emerging techniques in SLAM and roboticsWhat We’re Looking For:- 5+ years of post-undergraduate experience in robotics, autonomy, or related fields. (Ph.D., M.S., or industry experience in SLAM)- 2+ years of professional experience using modern C++ (C++17 or newer)- Deep understanding of SLAM principles including Lidar/Visual-Inertial Odometry, IMU Preintegration, Multi-sensor fusion- Experience with probabilistic estimation using factor graphs and/or Kalman filters- Experience using optimization backends such as Ceres or GTSAM- Hands-on experience working with lidar, camera, and IMU sensor systemsCompensation and BenefitsWe’re committed to offering fair and competitive compensation that reflects the value of your contributions and provides you with opportunities for growth and advancement within our organization.
